Atutu is providing earthquake response in Myanmar

Our Energy Frontiers Program addresses the critical energy needs faced by conflict affected families and underserved indigenous rural communities in Myanmar. We work closely with community leaders to bring electricity to the families and increase safety and security for those living in remote areas.

Energy Frontier’s Program

✸ Jump to a specific section

According to the World Bank Report,

Decades of isolation and underinvestment have left a staggering 61.4% of Kachin State without access to the electricity grid.

WHAT IS THE ENERGY FRONTIER’S PROGRAM?

The Energy Frontiers Program helps bring electricity to communities that have been displaced due to conflict or have been isolated from energy resources due to their rural locations.

WHY ARE WE DOING THE WORK?

Many of these residences and buildings have little to no electricity, having to rely on costly fuel generators to power lighting or communication devices.

With our solar home systems, the people of these communities have a sense of security with lighting at night and the capability to charge devices.

OUR IMPACT

To date we have made 354 installations across the state, changing the lives of 1,935 people.

They have independence on how they structure their days, no longer constricted by daylight hours.

OUR FUTURE GOALS

This program establishes the foundation for a brighter and more sustainable future by promoting energy independence and increasing community resilience.

Atutu is looking to expand our efforts into underserved communities and welcomes collaborations with NGOs, local organizations, and government agencies with experience working in conflict zones.
